Former CAF President Issa Hayatou receives one year ban.
The former president of the confederation of African football Issa Hayatou has been banned from taking part in any football activity by the world football governing body FIFA. This decision was made public on Tuesday 3rd August after he was found guilty of the role he played in the 1 billion dollars tv and marketing rights deal with France's Lagardere Sports. FIFA said that said it's adjudicatory chamber of the independent ethics committee has found Hayatou responsible for breaching the role concerning commercialization of media and marketing rights of competions organized by CAF in 2014 and 2017. " in its decision, following an extensive hearing, the adjudicatory chamber ruled that based on information gathered by the investigatory chamber Mr Hayatou has breached his duty of loyalty in his position as CAF president".
